Add Connext to your phone’s home screen for instant notifications from the organizations you belong to. It’s free, works over Wi-Fi or data, and if you ever skip it, your messages still arrive by text.

How to install

On your phone, open chat.connext.ms in your browser to install.

Pick your device and follow the steps. There’s nothing to download from a store.

    Open chat.connext.ms in Safari

    Installing on iPhone or iPad only works in Safari — not Chrome or another browser.

    Tap the Share button

    It's the square with an arrow pointing up, in the bar at the bottom of the screen.

    Choose “Add to Home Screen”

    Scroll down the share sheet if you don't see it, then tap Add in the top corner.

    Open Connext and allow notifications

    Launch it from the new home-screen icon and tap Allow so messages can reach you instantly.

Notifications that actually reach you

Once installed, Connext sends a push notification the instant a message arrives — even when the app is closed. No one gets left out either: if a member hasn’t installed the app, that message automatically falls back to a regular text.

Questions, answered

Do I have to install the app?

No. If you skip it, you'll keep getting every message by text exactly as before. The app simply adds instant notifications and keeps everything in one place.

Does it cost anything?

The app is free, and messages come over Wi-Fi or data — so they don't use up your text messages.

Which organizations show up in the app?

Any organization that has your phone number on Connext. Log in once with your number and they all appear together.

It's not in the App Store or Play Store — is that right?

Yes. Connext installs straight from chat.connext.ms in your browser, so there's nothing to download from a store. It still lands on your home screen like a normal app.

I'm not getting notifications.

Make sure you opened the app from its home-screen icon rather than a browser tab, and that notifications are allowed for Connext in your phone's Settings. Then send yourself a test message.
